Simplified procedure
Sometime during the month of March 1998, the first step toward website creation subsidies was created in Wallonia. This way, 800 companies have already been helped for a cumulated amount of 5 million euros.
The 15th june of 2009, the Walloon government simplified the procedure to obtain a grant for website creation :
- Imposing the administration a maximum procedure delay
- Erasing the obligation to have a billing system on-line for business to business transactions
- Allowing the companies being helped to put the website online as soon as it gets an accused receipt from the administration
Careful, this ability to develop and put online an e-business website without the final decision of the administration is within the company responsibility.
What do we mean with e-business?
By e-business website, we mean, the virtual emplacement on the Internet containing various data related to the company for :
- Small and medium sized enterprises (PME)
- The PME gatherings
- Business associations
The aim of the aid is to develop the e-business as much as possible. E-business websites, indeed, became fundamental in the development and the management of small and medium-sized enterprises. Much more than the e-commerce (selling products online), the e-business allow the transport and the maintenance of important data online.
E-business allows the companies to gain a serious amount of time and money (better productivity, better quality and better profitability).
It can be about the integration of production, purchases, stock process of a company, the management of its contacts with clients, partners or supplier, data sharing,...
Aimed companies :
The decree predicts to allow subsidies to any company willing to create an e-business websites. With company, we mean :
- Selling products or services to a consumer
- Selling products or services to another company
- Sharing data or computer software with another company. This is a 3rd aspect brining in a real added-value to the company, and that's a new aspect the Walloon Region want to promote.
The amount of these subsidies vary from a minimum 2.500€ to a maximum 15.000€ and can't exceed 50% of the website production cost.
An e-business website can be :
Transactional (clients buy services or products) for other companies (business to business e-commerce) or for consumers (business to consumer e-commerce).
Non-transactional and for companies exchanges (business to business e-business).
